Workshop Description
The Workshop Consolidation and Synthesis of the Conclusions of the Action Group 2, entitled "Effective Collaborations for the Development of Medical Devices in Portugal" has as main objectives:
- • Promote a dynamic interaction between entities responsible for co-development and validation of medical devices;
- • Consolidate the knowledge and conclusions of the working meetings of the Action Groups, namely:
- complement the knowledge with representatives of national health entities regarding the validation processes of a medical technology and
- good practices to address the challegens that R&D entities face in the testing and validation stage of a medical device and in the approach to clinical settings;
- • Familiarize the entities of the MDevNet network with the contents of the Best Practices Manual.
In order to fulfill these objectives, we will have the presence of several representatives of healthcare providers that can validate and complement the conclusions drawn from the working meetings of the Action Groups. We will also have the testimony of some examples of collaborations between researchers and healthcare entities and, in the end, a debate among the various entities to explore best practices for more effective collaborations.
The conclusions of this debate will contribute to improve the "Best Practices Manual for Technology Transfer in the Technology Based Medical Devices Sector", worked by Fraunhofer Portugal AICOS.
