MDevNet Project
The project MDevNet: National Network for Knowledge Transfer on Medical Devices, promoted by Fraunhofer Portugal AICOS, aims to increase the value of the knowledge on technology based medical devices produced by the entities of the Portuguese scientific and innovation system through effective processes of technology transfer to the industry.
Goal
Reinforcement of the economic value of the developed knowledge on technology based medical devices from the entities of the research and development. system, R&D, through effective technology transfer processes to the industry, which include activities such as:
Initiatives of interaction and knowledge transfer through the MDevNet Network;
Technological development for incremental improvements and increase of the value of scientific research results on technology-based medical devices;
Testing, experimentation and demonstrative activities in real environment of the improved research results;
Activities of dissemination and diffusion of the R&D knowledge and technologies as well as the technology transfer results supported by this project.
Knowledge Sharing
The project combines the results of the new model of technology transfer, based on an approach based on a collective effort of incremental improvements oriented regulatory and operational requirements which affect the future your application, as well as the pilot projects to demonstrate the impact of improved results, with the empirical knowledge that emerges from the MDevNet Network activity to produce a full set of documents of high relevance to the members of the network and other entities involved in the transfer of knowledge and appreciation of technology-based medical devices, specifically:
Report of Obstacles and Opportunities for Implementation of Successful Technology Transfer in the Field of Technology-Based Medical Devices;
Manual of Best Practices for Technology Transfer in the Field of Technology-Based Medical Devices;
Catalogue of R&D Results in the area of Technology-Based Medical Devices with High Potential of Valorization and Transfer.
MDevNet Network
Clarifying regulatory and operational requirements for a more effective knowledge transfer.
Goals
Coordination and networking between several stakeholders to collectively identify, synthesize and make available clarifying information regarding the requirements as well as the regulatory and operational processes with direct impact on the success of the transfer of knowledge and the industry of technology-based medical devices.
